When I decided to ditch my job and 80 hour work weeks in favor of a life, the ideas in the message below are what inspired me. I knew there had to be more.  I was a new mom.  I wanted time with my daughter.  I wanted life to be fun, not only about work.  I wanted and knew I deserved to have fun and joy. 

If you devote your life to your job, what is the point of being? If every moment is spent on thinking about work and bills, what fun is that?

Life Is For Living

One of the things I love about owning my own internet business is that I can work anywhere in the world.  As I write this post, I’m in Canada, a few miles from Niagara Falls.  My daughter and I are sitting outside, enjoying a beautiful campfire.

We’re spending 7 weeks this summer, exploring the U.S.  

As we’ve been enjoying Niagara Falls, swimming in the Niagara River, and playing with butterflies, you’ve been on my mind.

So many people contact me every day, distressed about losing their jobs.  Worried about mounting debt.  Often they’re tied to a job that either they hate (but are afraid of losing) or one that doesn’t compensate them adequately.

It doesn’t have to be that way.

To Have The Life You Want - Live The Life You Want!

Are you just existing in your life or really living it?  Someone recently emailed me and told me that he wanted my life. 

You know I didn’t always have this life.  The way I got it was that I started living the life I wanted and then I got that life.  Last summer, when I was unemployed, didn’t have my own business…or any income…..I knew I wanted to explore the country with my daughter.  So we did. We took off, headed for the Grand Canyon,  Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Sedona, Estes Park, the CA Coast and many points in between.  We had an amazing time.

Love Every Moment

While we were on that trip, I made a point of really being in the moment, every moment.  No matter what we were doing, I made a point of relishing and being grateful for every experience.

I also had in the back of my mind that in 2008, we’d head east to Niagara Falls, Wisconsin Dells, etc. 

And, by Divine Intervention, it’s here.  We’re in Niagara.  “Camping” in a 45 foot motor home.  Having the time of our lives.

You know what I’m doing this trip? I’m in the moment, every moment.  Every time I toss my daughter in the pool or the Niagara River, I look in her eyes and enjoy the beauty. Yesterday as we swam in the rain, I fully absorbed the feel of the water and the sound the rain made as it hit the river.  It was amazing.  When I look at the Falls, I send words of gratitude that they exist and that I’m experiencing them.

In my next post, I’m going to talk about playing full on and how a mom from CA and a Grandma from Illinois got an entire campground full of wallflowers out on the dance floor loving a moment of their life.

Well, here’s a story from this morning from my own life…..Law of Attraction in Action!!

So many people contact me every day asking for help to turn their lives around, to create wealth, better health, wisdom and joy.  I’ve tried very hard to help each and every one of them on an individual basis.   But there are just so many asking for help that I needed to find a way to help more people more efficiently.

For the past few weeks, I’ve been working on creating Strategic YOU! life coaching tele-classes that I will soon offer to you.  (Stay tuned. There are only going to be 20 spots in the class and my loyal newsletter subscribers will be invited first….and receive a hefty discount! :^))

You see, I’ve been actively using the Law of Attraction in my life for almost 30 years (long before the Secret made it popular).  I know for absolute certainty that the law of attraction works. I use it.

So this morning, I thought, I would love to find “experts” to invite to be guest speakers in my classes.  Speakers who will work with me to help you create wealth, health, wisdom, and joy in your life.   I wanted 8 of them.

As I sat down at my computer, I though ok, where on earth am I going to get “true” experts.  People who would add real value to the people who are taking my classes. 

So, as I contemplated the koi pond in my back yard, I said to myself….”I’ll just release it and allow them to come to me”.

Here’s the deal……within about 3 minutes, my email program malfunctioned and I had to restart it.  When it reopened, for some reason it opened on an old email from about 5 months ago.  This email just happened to be from a health expert that had approached me to see if there were ways that we could possibly work together.  I had forgotten all about him.    He and I are both featured Self Growth experts at Self Growth

That email reminded me of another expert that I know very well.  Within 5 minutes, I had a list of 10 experts who will add amazing content to the Strategic YOU Life Coaching class that I will be offering you in the next few weeks.

Will all 10 be available?  Probably not, but I only need 8. 

See, here’s how it worked.  I thought of something I wanted.  I released it to the Great I AM (my words for God) and then…drum roll please……….I allowed it to be delivered. 

When my email program crashed, I didn’t swear, get angry or some other such nonsense….I just did what I needed to do and magically there was someone who had asked me 5 months ago if he could fill my need! 

How cool is that? By the way…..I do this all the time.  You can too.  We’ll talk about it in the Strategic YOU class.

What do you want out of life….success or a good story?  Sadly too many of us opt for the story.

As you know, we’ve been getting up at dawn every day to do the monkey bars.  My daughter is obsessed.  She’s consistently gotten 6 out of 7 bars, but that last one has eluded her.

This morning, she opted for a story, instead of success.  The first story was that I needed to stop cheering and be quite.   Next, it was that I wasn’t cheering “that’s the problem”, then the first 2 bars were too slippery.  We never did get to global warming as the reason for being unable to do them, but she’s only 5.  Global warming isn’t on her radar yet!

The bottom line?  Today we didn’t even get to the 6^th bar.  The “story” was more important than success.

How about you? What great stories do you have?  You father was an alcoholic?  You were poor?  Your boss hates you?  The President is a failure?  The oil companies are out to rob you. 

Well, those all have the makings of a great “story”. But do they have the ability to create your success? No.

So, it’s a choice.  When talking to yourself and to your friends, do you tell them your tales of woe?  Or do you tell them about the amazing class you’re taking that’s teaching you valuable new skills?  Or about the great book you’re reading that is giving you wonderful personal power for achieving goals?

Do you talk about how thrilled you are with the success you’re achieving?

As I told my daughter today.  It’s a choice.  You can whine and complain about the color of the sky….or you can be positive, focused and create amazing success.  You know what, she’s only 5…but she got it. She turned herself around and gave it one more try.  No, she didn’t actually get the 7^th bar today.  But she’s positive and focused and ready to get up at dawn tomorrow to give it another try.

How about you?  It ‘s  a choice. It’s your stories or your amazing life. 

If you choose your life, I’d like you to do something today – for you.

Write down your story.  Write down how awful it was.  Write your anger, your hurt, your frustration.  If you can, cry your tears.  Write it all down.  Don’t  leave out one single thing.  Because this is the last time you will ever tell this story.  Get it all out. 

Now just sit for a moment and allow the peace of letting it go take over your body mind and spirit.

Once that’s done, get a match and set your story on fire.  Go on.  Do it!  Release it to the Great I AM.  You don’t need it any more.

Now, out of habit, you might find yourself starting to tell the story again.  Don’t!    Stop yourself.  And focus on success. Focus on life. Focus on joy.  There is so much to be grateful for.    I know you can find at least one thing.  Focus on that.

Now go out and make your life about your success.  Not about your “old news” stories.

We’ve been trying like crazy to learn the monkey bars at my house.  Or I should say, my 5 year old has. We even got up at dawn this morning to get to the park before the bars got too warm and made little hands slippery.

Right about now, you’re saying “so what….what does this have to do with me”  Give me another minute and I’ll  bet you see it has a lot to do with you and why you don’t have what you want in your life.

As I’ve tried to coach my daughter to success in her quest for the illusive last 3 monkey bars……I’ve watched both her attitude and her technique.  She has so reminded me of you and all of the people I coach toward financial, physical, and emotional success.

So what’s she been doing that’s keeping her from the finish line…..and which of these things are you doing?

1.    Unconscious reverse -  when she grabs the next bar, she grabs with her fingers pointing backward….instead of forward in the direction she wants to go…..unconsciously holding herself back.

2.    Lack of focus – instead of focusing on the next bar that is the goal, her eyes wander to me for validation or to something else that catches her eye.

3.    Letting fear stop forward momentum  - she’ll get to the 4^th bar and suddenly think “I can’t” or “I’m afraid” and drop to the ground

4.    Mentally taking too big a bite - while it’s great to keep your eye on the finish line, when you start by focusing on the 7^th bar, rather than on the one that your hand is reaching for, the task can be overwhelming.

What are your personal monkey bars?  

Maybe you say you want an extra $10,000 a month in income.  That’s certainly doable. Why don’t you have it or more?

When you move toward your dreams, what are you doing that puts your progress in reverse?     Now that you’ve taken on that exciting new goal, are you staying focused or do you let new projects, the TV, depression, or ice cream distract you?  And as you’re moving forward, do you suddenly get scared and just drop to the ground?  And, here’s a big one….who are you looking to for approval and validation?

Today at the crack of dawn we headed to the park.  And yesterday’s coaching had remarkable results.  She stayed focused on her next bite, she turned her body and fingers forward and stopped going in reverse, she ignored the fear and did it anyway, and instead of tackling the entire set of bars, she concentrated on just the next one that she had to grab!

Amazing success!  Today we got to the 6^th bar.  The illusive 7^th and final bar is in front of us tomorrow morning at dawn.  But, we both know that a celebratory sushi dinner is in our very near future.

I’m so proud of my daughter’s incredible determination, her willingness to take loving suggestions and make corrections to keep moving toward her own personal success.

How about you? Are you ready?  If you are, don’t try to do it alone.  Find a coach; someone who’s been there, done that.  There is not one thing that you cannot have if you really want it, but you might need someone to guide you (or gently nudge you) along the way. 

Am I responsible for my daughter’s success? Certainly not….she is!  But….without my loving suggestions, it never would have occurred to her to place her hands differently, maintain her focus, and care more about what she thought of herself and not about my approval.   Sometimes a little extra knowledge and a different perspective is the difference between swirling in frustration and ultimate success.

But did you know that most of the truly successful people have had help along the way?  Just one example, look at Oprah; one of the most successful women in the world. She’s had coaches, mentors, advisors. She hasn’t tried to do it alone.  You don’t have to either.

Remember, when you invest in yourself and invest in your life, the investment grows exponentially.  That expensive new car, or closet full of cloths or shoes, or whatever happens to be your distraction of choice…..it may make your life more pleasant in the moment, but 10 years from now, will you still be reaping the rewards???

A wooden board…..with my bare hand!  What can you do?  You’d be amazed!

I recently spent the weekend with James Ray, one of the stars of “The Secret”.  We talked a lot about secrets to success and how to achieve anything we want in life.

A lot of people hold themselves back. They choose, not to fail, but to never “go for it”. 

How about you?  Do you seize life at every opportunity? 

If you don’t….think of all of the amazing things you are missing!

When I started my own company after 20 years in corporate America, I was scared.  I was damn scared.  I was a single mom with a mortgage! 

I had never started a business on my own. 

I loved the comfort of a bi-weekly paycheck.  

Granted, those paychecks weren’t enough to give me the lifestyle of wealth, travel, and joy that I wanted, but they sure were comforting.

But you know, we all have the power of source energy flowing through us.  I believe that Source has no bounds.  God can do anything, without limits.  And, if that same Source energy is in me…..well then, I can do anything.

So I gave up the J.O.B…..and created a LIFE!

And you know what …..YOU can too!

So, when James told me that I could break that board with my bare hand and no real training, I thought he was crazy.

But, hey, I can do anything right.  So you know what?  I did it.  Marched up to that board and sliced through it like it was a piece of tissue paper. 

Yep, tissue paper.  By channeling Source energy through my body, I simply put my hand through the board. No fuss, no muss, no pain!

As I reflected on how amazingly easy it was, it occurred to me that each and every time in my life that I have wanted something, focused on something, allowed Source energy to flow……

I’ve gotten exactly what I’ve wanted…..or better!

My homes, my cars, my brand new portable empire computer, trips, loves…..you name it, I have it. 

If you allow it into your life, you can have it.

The same is exactly true for you.  Do you have the life you want?  Or are you living for the comfort of those paychecks and your J.O.B.

(Just Over Broke).

If you want true success.  If you want the life you deserve.  If you want to live your life for you and not for your J.O.B……choose that life.

Right now, today! Choose!
